Science & art: Not so far away

Traditionally, art and science have separated people. Some like numbers, others are sensitive to colours. But things aren’t black and white, because both have always been connected by the expression of ideas.

To begin with, it should be noted that both science and art have a huge impact on our society. As we felt in 2020 during the isolation, individuals not only missed contact with other people, but also let themselves be influenced by human expression. It is quite funny to compare a Pollock artwork within a maths table, at first glance both are incomprehensible. However, they have more in common than you might think. Both are like a canvas with a specific language that can be understood.

In parallel with this idea, one can complement the other. For example, IT companies are already using techniques such as visual thinking or sketchnoting. This technique is based on simple drawings of concepts that stimulate our brains to understand difficult concepts, create visual maps and ultimately generate a new language to understand the previous example of mathematics in a board.

In short, science and art share a language that connects people. Observing both is like looking at an abstract work of art, where it’s not important to understand it, but it’s remarkable what it awakens in people. Take a deep dive into this idea by reading Creativity, Inc;
