This is the second book I have bought from Austin Kleon. I discovered it in the museum shop of the Art Gallery of Ontario. However, I didn’t buy it (I was thinking about the space in my suitcase for my return to Spain). I found it again in the National Gallery in London and thought «it’s not too heavy», so I took it home.
- Clarify what you want to share. I understand that using social media means receiving (offen) personal information, routines, tips, from people who are considered influencers, so you ask yourself, should I also share my daily routine? The answer is NO. As the book will show you, share in terms you are comfortable with.
- Share every day. After the previous paragraph, you may be wondering what to share every day of your life. But as he said, «Share something small every day». In this sense, every day you will find something that inspires you or even past work that you can share from time to time.
- How to deal with trolls. As successful as you are, you still have to deal with outside opinions. Here, Austin explains how to avoid becoming desperate and how to deal with feedback or unpleasant comments.
4. Perseverance. One project will drive you to the next, so do what you set out to do and finish it, even if it is not perfect. Not only will you learn new skills, but you will also be closer to your new ideas. So stay motivated, everything you do is important to your journey.
5. A Kick in the ass. The sentences, stories and reflections will inspire you to keep going. Learn new skills and discover new ways to share your creativity.
